it's been raining in madrid for the last couple days pretty much without stop. it's a nice break from the sun and the heat all night, but when i hang my clothes up on the line to dry, i'd appreciate a couple hour break from the rain and for the sun to come out and say 'hello' and dry my clothes extra super fast.
they've been on the line for the last 3 days becoming even more water logged than when i had originally taken them out of the washer. i only have 7 shirts and 4 of them are hanging on the line being rained on so this puts me in a sort of predicament that i'd really care about if i were a girl. turns out i kind of like wearing the same clothes 3 days in a row so it suits me well.
midterms are this week. but they're not really midterms. they're tri-terms because we have two sets of midterms but the word 'mid' has a connotation of half and half the semester is most certainly not over. only a third is. though it's strange to think that a month has already gone by.
oh another nasty thing about the rain here. there are trees planted in the sidewalk at regular intervals and they are set below the level of the sidewalk so their little cut out square holes in the sidewalk that they sit in fill with water running down the street and the water turns brown and nasty from all the mud and the cigarette butts that people just leave everywhere. somewhat icky.
i booked my flight to sweden yesterday. i'll be there for 4 full days in december and i think i may just freeze. i'm heading to dublin in october and then amsterdam and brussels in november, sweden and budhapest and croatia in december. hopefully. if my money doesn't run out.
on a happy note, when my apartment got broken into the other day 80 euros of mine were stolen. i'm still not entirely convinced that it wasn't my roommates but whatever. the landlady is taking 130 euros off my final month's rent because of the inconvenience. i don't know why she made it 130 when only 80 were taken but if this is the way it works then i'm going to have a friend break in and take everything. we'll see where i get with that.
more studying to do now.
